Business and Finance Policy Office

The Business and Finance Policy Office writes comprehensive, clear, and concise policies and associated documents governing the business and financial activities at the University of Illinois System.

The Policy Office works closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) in university and system offices to draft, update, and review business and finance policies and procedures at the University of Illinois System. This process includes assembling relevant SMEs to discuss policy needs, drafting language, presenting updates at campus and system meetings, and managing the open comment process.

Policy Annual Review

Every year, the Policy Office works with relevant subject matter expert offices to review one-third of the business and finance policies, resulting in all policies being reviewed every three years.

Policy Advisory Group

Additionally, the Policy Office is charged with the oversight and management of the Policy Advisory Group (PAG). The PAG is made of departmental customers at all three universities and the system offices. Each PAG cohort serves a one-year term, provides customer-level feedback on policies in process, and identifies policy updates required for clarity or process improvement.
